Processed by Alex Woronow (2021) using PixInsight, Topaz, SWT

Sh2-235, the cloud in the center of the image, appears to have two parts: A bright area to the north (upper part) and a fainter portion to the south and, perhaps, wrapping behind the former. These two clouds have been interpreted as distinct clouds undergoing a collision. The ongoing collision spawned star-formation only in the northern cloud. According to (1) the bright bluish star nearest to the center of the semicircular structures (~35d 51m of declination) is the nebula-ionizing star. Those who have studied this nebula report that it has a thin obscuring nebula between it and us. That intervening nebula probably obscures some of the finest details we can observe and image.

Processing: Despite the sparse RGB, I applied my technique of extracting the narrowband lines, dropping their background signal, then mapping the lines to RGB and combining those mappings with the corresponding broadband images. The resulting image was stretched, and the PI version of StarXTerminator removed the stars. The rest of the post-processing was done in Topaz, except for five iterations of decon and reinstating the stars, back in PI.
